The Opportunity
We’re seeking an Intermediate Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting and support financial operations as we scale. You will be responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, running payroll, maintaining and provisioning inventory, travel booking, and assisting with financial reporting in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE and/or IFRS), excellent attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, the ability to work within deadlines, and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
This role will be a hybrid role with at least 1-2 days/week in the office, located in West Vancouver.
Responsibilities
Accounting and Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using QuickBooks Online;
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including GST and PST calculations and filings, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation;
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions;
- Assist with year end working papers and liaise with external accountants;
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Payroll Administration
- Process payroll efficiently using ADP, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for all employees;
- Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly;
- File and track Employer Health Taxes and Worksafe BC filings.
Financial Operations
- Oversee invoicing and expense management, ensuring compliance with company policies;
- Create, manage, and maintain Accounting SOPs.
Other Operations
- Manage the submission of Statistics Canada surveys;
- Handle the maintenance and provisioning of our laptop fleet;
- Ensure compliance with Lobbying regulations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field with a strong preference for CPA designation (in progress or completed);
- 3-5 years experience in full-cycle accounting (Canadian GAAP (ASPE)) and Canadian payroll administration (experience in ADP an asset);
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
- Solid understanding of GST and PST regulations and compliance;
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Superior communication skills in English, both written and verbal;
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively;
- Proficiency in remote tooling (Slack, Gsuite, Meet, Zoom etc);
- Experience in the healthcare technology or SaaS industries is a plus;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Salary Information: The base salary range for this role is $70,000-80,000/year. The base salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
